CRC Systems and Specifications
CRC's High Performance Computing (HPC) equipment is located at the Union Station facility in downtown South Bend, Indiana. Global Access Point manages the infrastructure of that building and leases the datacenter floor space occupied by the CRC to the University. The Union Station facility provides all the necessary power, power conditioning, heating/cooling and backup power supply required by the CRC. Physical security of the facility is provided by state-of-the-art monitoring equipment. This facility is equipment with sensors for temperature/humidity monitoring, water detection, heat/smoke and an FM-200 fire suppression system. Additional information is available at http://www.global-access.us
The CRC provides engineering support and services in the form of maintenance and system administration on all HPC servers. This support is also available for faculty/researchers who wish to independently purchase their HPC clusters and house them within the CRC facility. Total operating costs are reduced through centralized maintenance of these clusters. This also assists research groups in optimizing their use of CRC facilities and reduces spin-up time learning how to use the resources.
