The Center for Research Computing hosted a two-day Software Carpentry Workshop at the University of Notre Dame on June 25-26, 2015. Software Carpentry aims to help scientists and researchers become more efficient in using scientific computing resources. Lessons in this workshop included: Automating tasks with the Unix Shell; Building programs with Python; Version control with Git; and Managing data with SQL. This workshop drew high interest and registration was full within 2 hours of the event posting! With such a high demand, the CRC will host another Software Carpentry Workshop in the Fall.
